Majlis at Rizvi College, Bandra

Yesterday at Rizvi College, Bandra, a Majlis was held for marhum Akhtar Imam's eisaale sawaab on the 40th day of his sad demise.
The majlis was recited by Hojjatul Islam Sayed Ahmad Ali Aabidi. The below clip is of the same majlis.

Today 28th Safar: Martyrdom of the Holy Prophet of Islam (s.a.)

Juloos on this occasion at Irani Imambada, Pune (21/1/2012)
During the last moments of his life, the Holy Prophet opened his eyes and asked for his brother to be called. Aeshah called her father Abu Bakr, but when the Holy Prophet saw him he placed his head back on his pillow and repeated that his brother should be called for. Hafsah, another wife of the Holy Prophet called her father ‘Umar, but the same thing happened. Aeshah then sent for Imam ‘Ali saying that the Holy Prophet would see no one else. When Imam ‘Ali arrived, the Holy Prophet raised his cloak and took him under its cover. He then placed his head on the chest of Imam ‘Ali and talked to him for a long time.
In the last moments of his life a knock was heard on the door. Lady Fatemah told the caller to come later, because her father was very ill. However, the caller was insistent and kept on knocking. Lady Fatemah told him again to come later. When the third knock came, tears welled up in Lady Fatemah’s eyes, but her father said to her, “Oh Fatemah, let him in. For it is none other than the Angel of Death. It is only in respect of your presence that he is asking for permission to enter; otherwise he waits for nobody when he comes to take away the soul.”
Soon afterwards the signs of death began to appear on his face. The last sentence he spoke was, “No. With the Divine Companion.” It appears that at the time of his last breath the angel Gabriel gave him the option to recover from his illness and remain in this world or to allow the Angel of Death to remove his soul so that he may proceed with him (the Divine Companion) to the next world. The Holy Prophet uttered this sentence and passed away on Monday 28th Safar 11 AH. He was 63 years old.

Imam Hasan Mujtaba(A.S.) the elder son of Imam Ali(A.S.) and Hadrat Fatima Zahra(A.S.) was martyred by poisoning by his wife Jadah on 28th Safar 50 Hijrah and was buried at Jannat al-Baqi cemetery in the holy city of Madinah. Imam Hasan(A.S.) the Second Holy Imam of the Shi'ites in the world was Divinely gifted with all great qualities to such an extent that he was outstanding in knowledge, tolerance, intelligence, bounty and valour.

On this sad occassion, We present Our condolences to our living imam Imam-e-Zamana(a.s.),Muslim Ummah and all the lovers of the Holy Ahlul Bayt(A.S.).

The Fading American Dream

A few months ago, the Occupy Wall Street movement began in New York and spread around the world. The protesters' slogan "We are the 99 per cent" refers to the growing income and wealth inequality in the US between the wealthiest one per cent and the rest of the population.
More than 13 million Americans are unemployed, although there have been some improvements recently. And many others, who are in work, have been forced to take pay cuts or a reduction in working hours.
Millions of homeowners have lost their homes to foreclosures, a process whereby banks repossess their properties.
And at the same time, the budget cuts at federal and state level are eroding some of the government's social welfare programmes.
On this episode of Inside Story Americas, we ask: How can prosperity be restored for the American population? And is the American dream fading or should Americans reassess the meaning of the American dream? Click for Complete Story.

Today is Friday

Bro. Shoeb Husain from Singapore has send us the below traditions:
There are two hours on Friday when Duas are answered :One is when Imam e Juma has completed the sermon (Khutba) and the worshippers are prepared for Friday prayer.
The other is the last moments of Friday that is: " When half face of the sun is hidden."
The narrator asked Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.), “Which is the best deed on Friday?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Reciting Durood on Mohammad (s.a.w.s.) and his progeny a hundred times after Salaat-e-Asr on Friday. It is better to recite more than that.” (Sawabul A'amaal )
O Allah, (please) bless Mohammad and the Household of Mohammad and hasten the re- appearance of Your Hujjat (atfs).

Bahrain to Jewish leader: Iran is a threat to us all

Iran is a common threat to Bahrain, Israel and the US, the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was quoted as saying by a Jewish official on Sunday.
Rabbi Marc Schneier, vice president of the World Jewish Congress, said the king told him he was alarmed by the Islamic Republic during a 45- minute meeting held in the capital city of Manama late last month.
“I made a point how it’s ironic how we share a common enemy and he acknowledged that Iran has been a threat,” said Schneier, who gave the king a hanukkia at the end of their conversation.
The news comes at a time when the Sunni elite that rules Bahrain has been accused of oppressing the country’s Shi’ite majority. Complete News

Now Water Shortage in Baghdad, not in Karbala

Hashim Hassan is the Deputy Director of the Baghdad Water Authority (BWA), and he admits to an ongoing shortage of clean drinking water for Baghdad's seven million residents.
"We produce 2.5 million cubic litres daily, so there is a shortage of 1m cubic litres every day," Hassan explained to Al Jazeera. "We've added projects to increase water availability, and we are hoping to stop the ongoing shortage by the end of 2012."
According to Hassan, 80 per cent of the Baghdad's piping network needs rehabilitation - work currently underway - in addition to positioning 100 compact units around the city, which would increase clean water availability until larger plants can come fully online.
Several water treatment plants are already being extended, including one that would increase the capacity of a wastewater treatment facility in Sadr City, a sprawling slum of roughly three million people. Full Story

The Decline of the American Empire

The US has the world's biggest economy, the most influential culture, and the most potent military machine, with a budget that equals that of all other nations combined. It is the only power with a global project defended and supported by more aircraft carriers, Fortune 500 companies, and more successful media-tainment conglomerates than any other.

But the last decade has been problematic for the world's only superpower.
America's post-Cold War optimism has given way to pessimism, forecasting a declining power and more crucially, the end of "the American era",

Torture Weapons of United States

A controversial nonlethal weapon that uses microwave energy to create intense pain is being considered for use in Afghanistan, AOL News has learned.
An Air Force military officer and a civilian employee at the Air Force Research Laboratory told AOL News at an industry conference here that the Active Denial System, which heats the top layer of skin via millimeter waves, was in Afghanistan for testing. The sources were not able to offer details on how or whether the weapon was being used in combat.
The weapon is designed to shoot an invisible beam of energy at people, creating an intense burning sensation that forces them to flee. The Air Force has called it the "goodbye effect." It has not been used before in military operations.
The Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy Directorate Active Denial System (ADS) is a counter-personnel, non-lethal, directed energy weapon.
U.S. Air Force
The Active Denial System, a nonlethal weapon being considered for use in Afghanistan, shoots at its target energy that causes a burning sensation on the skin. The heat quickly becomes intolerable and forces the target to move.
Defense Department representatives confirmed the weapon was being considered for use and did not deny it was in Afghanistan, but indicated it had not yet been used operationally.
"Consideration is under way for the appropriate employment of an Active Denial System," Kelley Hughes, a representative for the Joint Nonlethal Weapons Directorate, wrote in an e-mail to AOL News.
In 2008, the Pentagon considered deploying the Active Denial System in Iraq, but the effort was stymied over policy concerns. Whether it will become part of the U.S. arsenal is Afghanistan remains unclear.
"It is my understanding that there are discussions under way about deploying an ADS but no decision/approval yet," Marine Corps Col. Dave Lapan, a Pentagon spokesman, wrote in an e-mail to AOL News when asked whether the Pentagon's civilian leadership had approved the weapon's use in Afghanistan.
Lapan was unable to respond by deadline to requests for further clarification.

Note: Now, the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protestors in United States will very soon experience the effect this weapon. The administration may use this to disperse the peaceful occupiers.

Effect of Moharram on Pakistani Economy

Pakistani economy gains more than Rs.one hundred and twenty six billion... (126,000,000,000) in the name of Imam Husain (a.s.).
When in Pakistan only this much amount spent in the way of the martyrs of Karbala, How much would it to contribute to the world economy?
A poet has expressed beautifully:
Itni Daulat Hee Kahaan Tere Khazaane Mein Yazeed
Jitna  ik  Sheh  Ka  Azadaar  Luta  Deta  hai
اتنی دولت ہی کہاں تیرے خزانے میں یزید
جتنا اک شہ کا عزادار لٹا دیتا ہے.

Sermon of Hadhrat Zainab (s.a.) in Yazid's Court

“All praise be to the Lord of the worlds! And blessings of Allah upon His Messenger and his entire progeny! How true has Allah, the Glorious, said: 'Then evil was the end of those who wrought evil, for they belied the Signs of Allah, and at them they used to mock.' (Surah ar-Room, 30:10).

Court of Yazid in Damascus
O Yazid! Now when you have locked the paths of the earth and the horizon of the heavens upon us, and driven us similar to the captives, do you presume that we are degraded in the eyes of Allah while you are endeared? While you have acquired an eminent and lofty status near Allah due to this? So you look down upon us and become arrogant, elated, and you rejoice that the world has turned towards you? You assume that your task is organized, while your sovereignty and kingdom pleases you? Gradually you seem to have forgotten the words of Allah, the Mighty, the Sublime, 'Let not those who disbelieve think that Our giving them respite is good for their selves; We only give respite to them that they may increase in sins, and for them is a disgraceful chastisement.' (Surah aal-'Imraan, 3:178).
